🌟 AIT's Chiller Success: Leveraging IOTONIX for Efficiency Gains🌟
Advanced Information Technology (AIT), a leader in IT network systems in Thailand, embarked on a mission to reduce energy costs using its IoT platform, IOTONIX. Faced with the challenge of high energy expenses due to air conditioning—which accounted for over 70% of their total energy consumption—AIT partnered with CarbonLead Co., Ltd. to address this inefficiency head-on. The project aimed to cut energy costs, highlight the capabilities of the IOTONIX platform, and improve operational efficiency.
To achieve this, AIT installed a range of power meters and sensors to monitor the energy usage across multiple areas, including the main power lines, chillers, and different sections of the building. The data collected encompassed critical parameters such as power consumption, water temperature in the chillers, and environmental factors like PM2.5, temperature, and humidity. After a year of monitoring and analysis, AIT identified significant inefficiencies in their existing chiller system. This led to the decision to upgrade from two chillers to a more efficient three-unit system of Carrier 30RAM401 chillers.
The results of this data-driven upgrade were impressive. Comparing energy usage between December 2019 and December 2022, AIT’s energy consumption dropped from 15,670 kWh to 10,057 kWh—a reduction of 10,506 kWh. This significant reduction translated into considerable cost savings of approximately 63,128 THB in just one month. In addition to reduced energy consumption, the new chillers also demonstrated enhanced energy efficiency. The Specific Energy Consumption (SEC) of the chillers improved from 2.24 kW/RT to 1.09 kW/RT, showcasing a remarkable efficiency gain.
